Genasys Co-CEO on the future of insurtech

Andre Symes, Co-CEO at Frog portfolio company Genasys (the leading digital platform for insurance companies), was recently featured on the IB Talk podcast to discuss where the insurtech sector is headed in 2022. Produced by Insurance Business magazine, the podcast explores aspects of the continuously evolving insurance industry, including the achievements of key individuals and businesses, as well as highlighting the latest in best practices.

In one of the latest episodes, called The future of insurtech, Andre and host Mia Wallace discuss the key developments that made 2021 a ‘landmark year’ for insurtech. They dive into the failures and successes of the market, and explore how to nudge businesses into using tech to improve their services. Andre says, “I believe more tech people should have more ‘agenda free’ conversations about how we can all help the industry as a whole. The healthier the industry, the better for all stakeholders, but especially for the assured.”

When asked what he perceives as the largest success of the insurtech industry from 2021, Andre says he is pleased to see a natural maturing of the insurtech space where people are adopting technology to solve a problem, rather than ‘technology for the sake of technology’. He predicts that 2022 will see a reduction in technology costs, allowing more people to use tech to improve their business. Andre also expects to see more collaboration within the industry, plus artificial intelligence and machine learning coming into play.
