Level 20, PER and Frog bring diversity in Private Equity into focus

Diversity is a key focus for Frog. We are proud to have hosted an event with Level 20 and PER to connect female junior professionals with Private Equity professionals across the industry. Level 20 are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving gender diversity in the European private equity industry with an ambition for women to hold 20% of senior positions in this dynamic industry and PER are a leading recruiter in the Private Equity sector.

Alongside colleagues from across the business; Senior EA, Sophia Sylvester, Chair of the Investment Committee, Sonia Powar and Frog Capital NED, Susannah Nicklin, Level 20 and PER were the perfect partners who equally share our vision and passion for improving gender diversity.

Private Equity can feel like a tight-knit, closed-off sector and it’s so important that women get the support they need to thrive in a male dominated industry. Networking is crucial for development, and you always come away from events having learnt something and feeling empowered. It was particularly interesting to learn more about the unique paths to Private Equity from so many of the Private Equity professionals who attended.

As Sonia commented, “Lots of people were wondering when would be the right time to try and enter the industry and whether they were too early or too late to try. It’s important for everyone to realise that it is always the right time. The industry requires diverse skills and backgrounds and has capacity to develop juniors and integrate more experienced individuals to add new skills, networks and sector expertise to the team.”

Susannah added, “I found it really stimulating to speak with so many talented and dynamic young women who are building their careers in Private Equity or hoping to do so. The atmosphere was buzzing with positive energy and support. It was great to hear those with experience freely sharing valuable insights into the range of roles in the industry, and giving advice not just about landing a job but finding the right fit.”
