Growing up
In 2014 I had just graduated from University of Greenwich with a degree in International Business with Applied Law. I was a bit lost on what to do next, so after working part time at an independent family-owned veterinary practice for 7 years during my studies, I made the decision to continue full time there, gaining valuable experience until I knew what my next step was. They had 2 clinics, so everyone got stuck in doing a bit of everything. My role varied from assisting the vets during consultations and surgery to basic bookkeeping and chasing debtors. It was a great way to put some of my knowledge at University to good use.
Experience
I stayed on working at the practice for 2 more years and then made the terrifying decision to move to China for 7 months. Wuhan, the city I moved to do a bit of travelling (whilst teaching English at the same time) was beyond what I could have imagined. Coincidentally it is also the city that we will never forget about! It is filled with lots of history and culture, it was the perfect place to move to, especially if you plan to do a bit of travelling around China.
At Frog Capital
I returned back to the UK in December 2016 and joined Frog Capital the following year in April as an Executive Assistant, working mainly with the investment team and the senior partners. Prior to Frog, I had never worked in the Venture Capital industry before and having studied International Business, working for a VC that invests in European companies is a great fit for me. Being able to learn about the fund life cycle, but also Frog’s approach when it comes to investing in software enabled technology has been a real eye opener for me.
